Yamada’s First Time: B Gata H Kei

You ever watch something (anime or otherwise) that makes you want to grab the character on-screen and violently shake them until they act right? Yeah… about three episodes in, that’s all you want to do to just about every character in this show until the last episode. So on that note, let’s dive right in.

The Sacred Blacksmith (Seiken no Blacksmith)

There’s nothing more worse in the world of Anime than being given an interesting story and universe that just doesn’t deliver properly. Honestly, I feel like The Sacred Blacksmith had the makings of being a really great ongoing series, but whatever happened to it near the end made it lose all steam.

Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life

Honestly, sometimes, when I watch Slice-of-Life anime, I have to wonder why I even bother watching Shonen or Isekai anime. Kono Oto Tomare was definitely one of the anime that made me remember why I absolutely love watching Slice-of-Life anime.

BEASTARS

Imagine a slice-of-life anime set in the universe of Zootopia, but for Anime fans and with much more adult-oriented content. That’s basically BEASTARS.

Hyouka

Despite forgetting that I’ve watched this sometimes, Hyouka is probably pretty high up there on my list of favorites. I wish a second season was released that gave me more closure on the romance aspect, but if you’re able to put that aside, and take this as a story of a high schooler learning a bit about who he is, it’s a beautiful story and worth the watch.

Ishuzoku Reviewers (Interspecies Reviewers)

I’m still convinced that the political story going on in the background is probably pretty interesting, but I admit that the lewd content of the show is a bit too distracting to know for sure. The show is funny and the group’s reviews are surprisingly insightful, but the show is still a softcore hentai series. I highly recommend this for anyone who’s able to be shameless about watching this on their television/computer at home, but if you have to sneak around to watch this, you might as well just go watch some hentai.

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.

I don’t know if this was intentional, but I consider this show to be a parody of other shows in its genre. The main character is broken beyond the comprehension of even the supporting characters, and they quite openly acknowledge it. As long as you go into it with the understanding that the game’s mechanics don’t make sense and that the whole premise is meant to be a comedy, this show is worth it for a few chuckles.
